You can also listen to MP3 music on it – just hook a USB cable up to a computer with a music collection, and copy the songs over. (The PSP should open up as a folder in My Computer).
There are tons of movies you can buy (I like to collect the cool little UMD disks), but if you want to download some for free, buy a big memory stick for it, and download the movies from torrent sites. Some are already in the PSP MP4 format, but even if you download a movie in another format, there are file converters you can use for free.

If you get online with it (like from a wireless hotspot) you can download and read free ebooks. Some of those are pretty good!
